The tunnels are actually train tunnels. There was a lignite mine between Plakias and Lefkogia and a narrow track (600mm) industry train (Decauville) was transporting the lignite from the mine 2.5 km to the sea where it was loaded on ships. The build structures at the end of the tunnels are the remains of a ramp where the lignite was going down on board of the ship. Due to the poor quality of the lignite the mining ended soon after WW2 and the tunnels became abandoned.

The Tunnels are very old, they have been used to unload Cargo from ancient ships, later the Nazis used it to land and load their submarines during the Crete invasion.

I am in Sissi now, and it still pretty much looks the same as in your video. It's a pity, it still looks poor, so I hope they will restore it with something beautiful, some flowers or trees or new terraces. By the way, the tavern Paradosiako still exists, however across the street where the terrace used to be. I ate some delicious gyros there today, however the good friend Zameer was always talking to in the other videos was not there. But even though the places are gone, Sissi is still beautiful. By the way Zameer thank you for your videos, they have been very helpful for me!

You literally past my favorite hotel...the chersonissos maris, were you had to wait for that white car to move

Been there the last 3 years on a row in August..we stayed in chersonissos maris hotel it's literally 5 minutes walk from this beach, this August we go to agia marina ( thalasa Beach resort) I just hope we won't regret going to other place because we liked it a lot in chersonissos maris but it's time to discover new places
